The main issue addressed at the conference was the issue of the citizens whose fingerprints have faded out, especially the elderly and pensioners. Due to the fading fingerprints, most of them encounter trouble in identifying themselves through NADRA’s biometric system. In this context, a NADRA official stated that to mitigate this problem, NADRA has now announced the implementation of the feature of identification through facial recognition from January 15. This new facility will be available at NADRA centers where individuals will be verified through facial recognition. With the introduction of this facility, the senior citizens who were facing difficulties due to fingerprints will now get an easy alternative. This facility will also be provided through NADRA’s “Pak ID Mobile App”, which is going to provide citizens with the facility of verifying their identity on their mobile.
